Gingerbread Friends
When Mattie goes out Gingerbread Baby gets lonely. He wants to have friends to play with too; he dreams of adventures. One day when Mattie leaves, Gingerbread Baby takes the rooster and goes into town. He spots a bakery and heads inside to find friends- only he finds out that these friends cannot talk or move! Gingerbread Baby ends up being chased out of the bakery by a whole heard of animals and the baker. Will Gingerbread Baby make it home, and more importantly will he find friends?
Rating 5 out of 5 Stars. This is a story coming from Switzerland and based off of the traditional tale of the Gingerbread Man. it has the same exciting Jan Brett that most people look for with border art. It also tells a cute story about a happy end for Gingerbread Baby.

I usually really like Jan Brett books, and I like the classic Gingerbread tale, but for some reason this book has never been my favorite. I do not know for sure what it is about this book. Maybe because the other treats made out of sugar are kind of creepy looking. The pop-up page is pretty unique at the end of the book!
