The Mitten
When young Nicki asks his grandmother for snow white mittens, she is concerned that he will lose them in the snow, but she loving knits them anyway. When Nicki goes out to play he does lose his mitten, but some animals come to snuggle inside it. What happens when more animals come by? Will Nicki ever get his mitten back?
Rating 5 out of 5 stars. This is a great story based on the Ukrainian folk tale. The story is kept in its traditional structure. Jan Brett also has a great use of pictures and borders to help enhance the story. This is a story that is used in many classrooms and has lots of supplies and teaching tools as well.
