Sector 7

This is a wordless picture book (which has also won the Caldecott Honor) about a school trip.  On this day at the top of the Empire State building it is very cloudy, so one little boy makes friends with a cloud.  When the sun starts to come out the cloud takes the boy to Sector 7- the cloud factory.  Sector 7 is where clouds all get their shape and assignments, no longer excited by the ordinary shapes the boy begins to draw new cloud designs until he is found.  What will happen to the clouds and the boy? Read this story to find out.

Rating: 5 out of 5.  This story has great pictures and lots of imagination.  it also encourages kids to look up at the sky and create different images of clouds.  It takes an everyday thing (cloud) and makes it come alive.

  1. This is one of the David Wiesner books that I really want to read! I remember seeing some of the illustrations online, they were incredible!

  2. The imagination of this book reminds me of finding shapes in the clouds in the sky. Initially the book title makes me think that sector 7 is an eerie place, because of Hollywood. I am glad it's a cute book.

  3. I actually really enjoyed it- the cover is not that appealing in my opinion but the book was so cute. It seemed MORE realistic than some other ones although obviously still fantasy.
